Dana K. Shirey literally grew up with a camera in her hands. She developed her unique laid back style by studing at Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, Maryland and uses her knowlege of the human form from studing dance at the Peabody School of Dance. Her first national acheivement award was earned at the young age of 12, and her creativity continues to grow. Before opening the studio in 2004, Dana headed up the digital department in a successful photo lab proforming digital re-touching for a majority of the professional studios in the area. Her commercial designs and layouts grace many offices, billboards, and public venues throughout York and Baltimore. She creates beautiful collages for family and community events.Dana has been the chief photographer for two newspapers and continues her photojournalism in several international magazines with several covers to her credit. Areial photos shot from a helicopter have appeared in American Heritage Magazine and can be done of your property, but we suggest getting the neighbors involved to keep the cost of the helicopter down.
    Ms. Shirey has a passion for photography,digital imagery, and her customers satisfaction. She has been capturing family memories for two generations. River Studios offers some unique packages. Brides love the "Intimate Package" that makes the perfect wedding gift for their grooms. This is a collection of tastful, artistic semi-nude images that the grooms charish. Many ladies have used the "Intimates" as anniverary gifts, valentines, calenders, or just a way to feel beautiful and sexy without the worry of appearing cheap or trashy. There is no age or size limit to feeling good about youself!  Our "Motherhood Package" offers a growing family portraits of the pregnancy, followed by a visit to the hospital to photograph the newborn and then creating a collage of the baby, siblings and the new parents to send as birth announcments. Wedding packages are designed for every budget, and we offer a very flexible ordering system which allows our couples to taylor their packages and the option of adding on at a later date. Many high school seniors find River Studios as the alturnitive to the big studios which gives them an individual personal look to their senior portraits.
    Forrest Photography is a division of River Studios owned by Dana's son who travels the world as an adventure tourism guide, and offers his scenic and wildlife images. His images have been used in outdoor catalogs and adventure publications.
